The Cass Free Medical Clinic is open at Cass Community United Methodist Church, located at 3901 Cass Ave. @ Selden in Detroit. It operates on Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. year-round. Medical services are also offered at a second location on Cass’s campus during the week during high-volume time periods. Services are provided at no cost.

Volunteer doctors and Wayne State University medical students staff the operation, offering health screenings, providing no cost medications (as available), and arranging for pro bono procedures, as needed. Patients can also be linked to other resources and can often leave with fresh produce.

Cass’s Kim Center, open Monday through Friday at Cass’s World Building (11745 Rosa Parks Blvd.), is used by adults with developmental disabilities. Program members decide on personal goals – social, educational, vocational, and recreational. Several people at the activity center own their own businesses. Others work in the community and a good number are employed in Cass’s document destruction (shredding) program.

Referrals to the Kim Center come through the mental health system in Detroit/Wayne County.
